About Kathleen

Kathleen Sims is an accomplished real estate professional with over 35 years of experience. Her agency is a woman-owned, multicultural real estate firm. The agency mission is to promote and expand home ownership in Oakland-SF Bay communities. She believes that a stable home environment is essential to a happy, successful and secure family legacy. Her passion for real estate was passed on from her great, great grandfather, Alvin Coffee, one of the first freed slaves in California almost 165 years ago.

As a California native and Oakland resident, she appreciates the rich and diverse cultural traditions shared in the community. Kathleen’s extensive knowledge spans over three decades of real estate transactions including sales, home loans, and property management. She holds a California Real Estate Broker License as well as multiple certifications.

Her previous position as the Director of the Leased Housing for the City of Oakland Housing Authority, provided vast experience and in-depth knowledge of federal housing management includes tenant-landlord negotiations; property inspections; repairs; lease management; and conflict resolution. She is also a Certified Probate and Trust Specialist.

Kathleen and her team help navigate sale or purchase transactions as effortlessly and seamlessly as possible. As a member of the global RE/MAX family, she maintains partnerships with real estate professionals worldwide.

After serving four years, she recently retired as an appointed board member of the City of Oakland's Residential Rent and Relocation Board (RAP). This Board serves to resolve owner and tenant disputes in the City of Oakland.
